my trip to Scotland
Let me begin with wow
There are many words I could use to describe Scotland; each wouldn’t do it justice, beautiful stunning and jaw-dropping.
I had the luxury of 8 full days in Glencoe and the Isle of Skye, I feel I only got a small glimpse of the landscape and there’s so much more to see on plenty of visits to come
my first four days in Glencoe were bright, sunny and by all accounts it hadn’t rained in over a week, not what one would expect from Scotland so I had to change my plans of the river and waterfall shots to more woodland and mountain images. when driving through and along the A82 you can’t help but stop every minute to grab a shot or to put a reference note down for different times or weather conditions. I saw some of the well-known honey pot locations, but with the lack of water or blue skies, these will have to wait for my return trip. this being the case made me change my perspective and try new ideas.
I got to explore so many woodlands lochs and off-track roads ( including the Skyfall road ) each bringing new opportunities and fresh ideas.
An image I did want to capture was of a highland cow. Everywhere I went from Lock Lomond up to Fort William I just didn’t come across a single one, I thought there would be plenty about and the search would continue once I got to Skye.
I know well enough that some of these images won’t appeal to everyone; photography is down to individual taste. Photographs are memories.
Part 2 next week
my time there was filled with memories that will last me a lifetime. I’m already planning my next trip there in 2024
